Food Waste Reduction Pledge

Orlando Hospitality Alliance (OHA) is excited to announce its Food Waste Reduction Pledge. This pledge is an important component of OHA’s new multi-year commitment to advancing sustainability initiatives within its membership, which includes over 100 small local and social businesses in Orlando.

Orlando and its surrounding entertainment districts include some of the most innovative hospitality entrepreneurs in the world. Equipping them with the tools, training, and resources to achieve their sustainability goals is an important part of OHA’s mission. OHA is targeting 50 member locations to commit to this pledge in 2022, with the goal of reducing food waste in Central Florida by more than 100,000 pounds a year.

The OHA Food Waste Pledge Includes 5 Key Areas of Focus:

  1. Member locations begin by completing OHA’s food waste analysis tool.

  2. Participation in the menu design for food waste reduction workshop.

  3. Complete OHA's sustainability in supply chain training.

  4. Sign-up for the City of Orlando’s food waste composting program.

  5. Members track progress towards food waste reduction metrics for annual reporting.
